The End

It’s been exactly two years since I started posting to this blog. I have made 245 posts. This is my last one.

Over the next month and a half I will be dismantling my online presence. By May, there will be no more blog posts, tumblr posts, Twitter posts (I believe the term is “Tweet”), podcast updates, or YouTube posts. I will keep posting images to my Flickr account until my pro membership expires this summer. With the exception of my podcast, I will not be canceling my membership to any of these sites. I will keep the content up for all to see. I will do my best to archive my podcast so people can still access it.

This is the end of a two-year era. I have no regrets, and I am happy to have been able to share my ideas and thoughts with anybody who cares. It has been an amazing experience for me to be as public as I am. I have met some amazing people through this blog and my online presence. As I enter a new stage in my life, I am finding the need for privacy. More importantly, I need to focus on what truly matters to me.

I have spread myself too thin for the past eight months. This is my fault, and I apologize to those affected by this. The work I do needs to be more than an after-thought, and everything I have done recently has not been my best.

I have a company to focus on. I want Phine to make the best products and services possible. I look forward to working 100 hour weeks.

Thank you,
-Aaron

Must Read Books Available at UOIT's Library

The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins
My favorite atheist, Richard Dawkins, details why there certainly is no god and that the existence of God is a scientific question.

The Long Emergency by James Howard Kunstler
Kunstler details the Peak Oil Emergency and how we built a living arrangement that has no future. He goes on to describe how we need to start living locally in order for the human race to survive.

Founders at Work by Jessica Livingston
Y Combinator co-founder Jessica Livingston interviews founders about their respective startups. There are 32 interviews in total and includes everyone from Apple to Yahoo. This is a must read for any tech founder, and it should be the de-facto holy book for an entrepreneur. I currently have this book out. It will be returned no later than March 27th.

Campus CEO by Randal Pinkett
Winner of the 4th Season of The Apprentice, Dr. Randal Pinkett tells you exactly what you have to do to start a company at a college or university. It is full of amazing advice for anyone that wants to start a campus based company. I currently have this book out. It will be returned no later than March 27th.

Xbox 360 For Sale!

I don't have time for gaming anymore, and I am strapped for cash. So guess what, that means you can save big on an Xbox 360! That's right, I'm selling my Xbox 360 and everything that I have for it. So what do you get?

You get the following games:

  1. Halo: Combat Evolved (Halo 1)
  2. Halo 3
  3. Gears of War
  4. Project Gotham Racing

You get the following components
  • Xbox 360 Console (Pro version)
  • 20GB Hard Drive
  • Two (2) Wireless Controllers
  • Xbox Live Headset
  • Component HD Video Cable
  • VGA Cable (for playing games in high definition on your computer monitor)
  • Power Adapter (of Joy)
  • Long Ass Ethernet Cable
  • 1 Month of Free Xbox Live Gold Membership (this is a card M$ gave me)

All this for only $400!

This is new unit that I got from Microsoft after my old one crapped out. It is in great working condition. If you go out and buy a new 360 it will cost you $350. So for only $50 more you get four games and all this nifty stuff! This package has an approximate retail value of $600. So you save $200! Plus you get your own piece of Aaron Tait/Phine history. I will personally sign it if you so desire.

There is only one downside, this unit does not have the HDMI video out that the newer consoles have. But who cares? You can do HD with the component cable, or the VGA cable that I am bundling in.

Also, if you're a UOIT student and you are interested in game development, you could buy this from me and head out to the XNA GameCamp that UOIT is hosting on March 21st.

If your interested, email me.
You can also check out the Facebook marketplace page.
